How long you can drive with a bad wheel bearing depends on the severity of your problem, but if your wheel bearing is bad, it would be hazardous to drive on it.
A worn-out wheel bearing could cause one of your wheels suddenly stop turning while you’re driving, and it’s possible to lose control of your vehicle. It’ll also put additional stress on other parts of your car in the meantime.
If you’ve noticed signs your wheel bearing might be in trouble, it’s a good idea to address the problem with a mechanic as soon as possible. Those signs could include:
Humming, squealing, or grounding noises
Vibrating steering wheel
Loose steering, or steering that “pulls”
Uneven or accelerated tire wear
