How likely is jail time for reckless driving?

I was charged with reckless driving for going 22 mph over the speed limit. While I hate getting tickets, I’m more worried that I might face jail time. Will I go to jail for reckless driving?

Reckless driving may result in jail time of 30 days to one year, depending on the laws in your state. However, jail time is unlikely for first-time offenders or situations that didn’t involve an accident.
Reckless driving is a misdemeanor in many states. If you hire a traffic lawyer, you may be able to plead guilty to a lesser charge, though. This may be the best way to avoid jail time (or get a reduced sentence) if this isn’t your first reckless driving charge or you have tons of
other tickets
on your record.
