Congrats on your new adventure! It’s a big change moving to a new city, especially if you’re bringing your car.
Driving in Boston can be challenging. The roads are meandering and unpredictable, and winter storms and seasonal events can create lots of congestion.
Here are some tips for driving in Boston:
  • Watch for pedestrians: Many people in Boston get around by walking, and not all of them follow the rules of the road. Keep an eye out for people crossing the street or moving between cars.
  • Drive a smaller vehicle: It can be hard to find parking in Boston, and a smaller vehicle can fit into smaller streetside parking spots. Plus, some of Boston’s roads are notoriously narrow, so it’s worth having a smaller vehicle if possible.
  • Take public transit: If driving turns out to be too stressful, Boston has an excellent train and bus network that can get you where you need to go.
Adding collision and
comprehensive insurance
to your car insurance plan may not be a bad idea if you’re driving in Boston.
