How fast can an electric car recharge?

Now that I have an electric car, I've realized that charging is more complicated than just going to the old gas station. How fast can I expect my electric car to recharge with varying charging speeds from location to location?

Great question—Your
electric car
can recharge in as fast as 20 minutes with a fast charger.
We’ve all grown accustomed to the quick visit to the gas station. It takes no more than a few minutes to fill your tank, grab a coffee or a snack, and pay at the gas station. The electric vehicle equivalent to this process is not so simple. Recharging your electric car can be a breeze if you use the top-up method. This simply means not allowing your car to deplete to zero before recharging. Most drivers try to top up their batteries whenever they can to maximize their range and prevent long spouts of charging. Recharging times
  • Home or standard outlet—8 hours to charge from empty to full.
  • Rapid charger—20 to 30 mins There’s nothing like a good backup plan if you want to feel more secure about your electric car’s battery range.
