How far should you park from a stop sign?
I live in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago. I only moved about a week ago from Indy and I had no idea that parking was going to be a nightmare. There’s always an open spot right next to a stop sign, but I wasn’t sure how far away from it I have to park. By law, what’s the distance I need to park away from a stop sign?

always park
at least 30 feet from a stop sign.In Chicago, parking too close to a stop sign can result in a $60 fine for the first violation and $120 for each additional violation. As an alternative, you may want to find a paid parking spot or a parking garage.
