This might surprise you, but your husband isn’t crazy (then again, we here are Jerry don’t know your husband)—Eros Bendato is indeed a giant sculpture of a decapitated head in St. Louis’s massive Citygarden park system. To bring your husband to his artistic nirvana, the drive from Atlanta will take you 8 hours and 40 minutes, covering 555 miles**.
From Atlanta, head north on I-75 and then head west on I-24, taking you through Chattanooga and Nashville.
At Pulley’s Mill, IL, take I-57 N to I-64 W, which takes you into St. Louis.
Take exit 40A onto S 9th Street, and then turn right onto Market Street.
In case you were wondering, Eros Bendato was created by Polish sculptor Igor Mitoraj, and the “head” belongs to that of Eros, the god of love and desire. You and your husband (or perhaps…just your husband?) can even step inside(!!) the sculpture’s head and peer out of its empty eyes.
A great opportunity for a wacky photo. Or perhaps just an opportunity to question some life choices, which we here at Jerry always find beneficial.
As mentioned, Eros Bendato is right in the heart of St. Louis’ Citygarden, where there are plenty of sculptures and installations within view of the magnificent Gateway Arch.
But before you join your husband on your Atlanta to St. Louis journey, make sure your car is protected with a robust car insurance
