The Tesla warranty works like this: if anything goes wrong with your car as a result of a manufacturer’s defect, Tesla will replace it for free. However, the defect needs to fall within the 4-year, 50,000-mile basic or powertrain warranty timeframe that’s offered on all new Tesla vehicles.
The battery also has an 8-year, 100,000-mile warranty, as required by the federal government on all hybrid and electric vehicles.
