How does the locking rear differential work on the Ford F150?
I drive a Ford F150 and want to take it off-roading, but I’m worried about my truck getting stuck in the mud. I know my truck comes with a locking rear differential but I’m not quite sure what the feature does. How does the F150 locking rear differential work?

is a great vehicle for off-roading, and luckily, comes equipped with features such as the locking rear differential to ensure you can get out of the muddiest situations!The electronic locking differential functions to provide greater traction for your vehicle, which can be extremely helpful in mud, rocks, sand, and other off-roading conditions.
This feature works by applying unequal torque to each tire on the axle and ensuring both wheels spin at the same rate. In this way, your tires have improved traction and your risk of spinning out is virtually nonexistent.
Keep in mind that the differential will automatically disengage if your vehicle speed exceeds 25 mph, and will re-engage if you slow down to speeds below 20 mph.
