’s invisible trailer is an awesome piece of technology that lets drivers towing big equipment see a complete view of what’s behind them in the rear-view camera. While it may seem like magic, the invisible trailer view actually works by mixing the views of two different cameras.The first camera is attached to the back of your tailgate. This camera’s view is used to create a frame for what you see on the screen. Specifically, it captures all the scenery around your trailer.
The second camera is placed at the back of your trailer. This camera sees everything behind the trailer, but it gives an inaccurate view—since it can’t account for the space from the front to the back of your trailer.
By stitching together both images, the Chevy Silverado is able to build an accurate image of what the view behind your car would look like without the trailer. And for anyone towing oversized equipment, that sort of view can be a big help.
