through a car rental company, but you may already have coverage through your current car insurance company or credit card. Major credit card companies also may offer rental protection if you use the card to pay for your booking.
If you need to purchase rental car insurance through the rental car company, you have the option to buy basic
liability insurance
or collision damage waivers, which will release you from damages to the car. The level of protection you want to purchase should depend both on the coverage you already have and the amount you’re willing to pay.”
