I got into a minor car accident a couple of weeks ago. I washed my car a few days ago and noticed a bunch of red paint on my car. I knew that paint transfer was something that happened in accidents, but I didn’t think it would be a result of such a minor fender bender. How does paint transfer in a car accident?

I’m sorry to hear that you were involved in an accident—even a minor accident can be a pain. Paint transfers when one car comes into contact with another. The contact doesn’t need to be major for one car’s paint to leave its mark on the other vehicle.
