How does Land Rover blind spot assist work?

I’m going to drive my husband’s Land Rover on a work trip next week and I’ve never driven a car that big before. He told me that it has blind spot assistance, but I’m not really sure how to use it. How does the blind spot assist feature work on a Land Rover?

It can definitely be confusing to drive someone else’s car!
Land Rover
blind spot assist works like this:
  • The vehicle is equipped with a series of sensors that activate small lights in the side mirrors when a potential obstruction is detected in your path.
  • To use the feature, simply check your mirrors as normal, and if you see a warning light, watch out for other vehicles, pedestrians, or something else in your path.
  • The Land Rover can also automatically steer your vehicle away from potential collisions if they’re detected by the sensors. This will help keep you safe in the event that you don’t see the warning in time.
