How do you wash a car after beach driving?

There’s sand all over my car. I want to clean it off, but I’m afraid that I’ll damage the paint if I try to scrub it. How do I clean my car after driving on the beach?

It’s great that you’re being careful since sand can definitely scratch your car’s paint! In order to properly wash a car after beach driving, it’s best to start with a lot of water. Spray down your car, paying special attention to areas that are difficult to reach with a sponge.
Once you’ve removed most of the sand, use a soft sponge or microfiber cloth, gentle soap, and water to wash your car. Use little to no pressure when you do this to avoid scratching your paint with any residual sand.
When you’re done with the wash, it’s also a good idea to
wax your vehicle
. Wax will add a protective layer between your car’s exterior and the outside world, so you’ll be less likely to damage your paint job in the future.
