How do you use Bluetooth to pair a smartphone with a BMW?

Just bought a new BMW, and I wanna set my phone up via Bluetooth so I have all my music for an upcoming coast-to-coast roadtrip. How do you use Bluetooth to pair a smartphone with a BMW?

You’ll have to use your BMW’s iDrive system to pair your smartphone with your new car, but doing so is easy.
Just follow these steps and your BMW will be ready to go for a road trip full of tunes:
  • First, make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone
  • On your BMW’s iDrive 7’s infotainment screen, press COM, and then press Mobile Devices
  • Tap New Device
  • On your smartphone, you should now see the iDrive system as discoverable
  • On the phone, tap on BMW from the Bluetooth menu—the phone and your BMW’s iDrive system will begin pairing, and a message on the touchscreen will confirm this
  • Confirm the PIN on your mobile phone and on the iDrive screen match, and press YES
And with that, your smartphone is paired with your BMW! That was easy, now wasn’t it?!
