How do you turn on cruise control?

Is there a universal way to turn on cruise control, or is it different in every car? I rented a Honda Civic for a road trip and I can’t figure it out. This is really annoying since we’ll be driving a lot!

Cruise control is not universal, so it’s totally understandable that you’re confused. To turn on cruise control in a
Honda Civic
, you’ll need to follow these steps:
  1. Press the Cruise Control Master Button, which is located on the top right of your steering wheel controls.
  2. Once you see the CRUISE MAIN light come on in your instrument panel, begin accelerating until you reach your desired cruising speed. Your speed must be above 25 mph to use cruise control.
  3. When you reach your desired speed, press the DECEL/SET button, which is located just below the CRUISE MAIN button.
  4. Your instrument panel display should read, CRUISE CONTROL. This indicates that cruise control has been successfully set.
