Figuring out how to turn off a Jeep’s interior lights can be tricky! How to turn Jeep
interior lights off typically depends on the model and year. On certain Jeeps, on the turn signal/multifunction lever, there is a dial that you can turn to adjust the lights’ brightness. The second or middle detent will set your lights to come on when doors are opened, and the last will turn your lights completely off (unless you push their buttons manually).
You can press the buttons on either side of the dome lamp to turn them on and off, and for the cargo area lamp, you can press on the light itself to turn it off.
Other Jeeps will have a thumbwheel to the left of the steering wheel that you can scroll up and down to adjust the light’s brightness.
Turning it all the way up will put it on its brightest setting, while turning it all the way down will turn the light completely off. (For better or worse, this also controls the light level on your dashboard, which can sometimes make it more difficult to read at night when on the lowest light setting.)
