“While a squeaky window may not bother you initially, it definitely can start to get on your nerves.
To quickly fix a squeaky car window, try spraying silicone grease. It’s easy to find at any automotive or hardware store and typically costs $5.
To use it, do the following:
With the vehicle’s window open, spray the lubricant inside the seal on both sides of the window frame.
Start on the left side of the window at the top and work your way down. Repeat this process on the right side of the passenger window. Be sure the lubricant is well distributed all down the vertical frame and seal.
Use a rag to clean up the excess around the window seal.
Wait a few minutes, then try rolling the window up and down a few times. The squeaky sound should be improving.
If it isn’t completely gone, you can add more lubricant to the window seal. Roll the window up and down again to evenly distribute the grease. At this point, you shouldn’t hear a squeak!
Once you resolve the squeak, consider reviewing your
coverage as well. Any time you repair or work on your vehicle, you should review your policy and request quotes from multiple companies to ensure you’re getting the best price.
