I get a ton of road noise in my car. Can car doors be soundproofed?

Yes, you can soundproof your car door! Here’s how:
  • Take a look at your owner’s manual to figure out where the screws are, then pry off whatever is necessary to expose them. You can use a screwdriver or small pick for this, but it shouldn’t require a lot of force.
  • Once you’ve exposed the screws, remove them and take off the panel. Then, lift the protection under the panel. This might be plastic wrap, foam, or fiber.
  • Clean
every part of the door that you want to attach your soundproofing material to and prepare your material for application.
  • Once your door is ready, attach the material you’ve chosen. You’ll want to cover at least a quarter of the door. Once you’re done, replace all door components you removed.
You’ll probably want to make sure your newly improved ride is properly protected in case of an accident. The
