How do you reset the maintenance light on a 2007 Toyota 4Runner?

My maintenance required light won’t turn off. I already took the car to a shop, so I know everything is good. How can I reset the maintenance light on my Toyota 4Runner?

We’ve all been there with a
weird light
stuck on on our dashboards! Here are the steps you need to follow:
  • Turn the key to the on position, but make sure you don’t start the car.
  • Find the Odometer/TRIP button and select either ODO or TRIP A.
  • Then, turn the key to the off position.
  • Cycling the key to the on position again, hit the same button.
  • Keep pressing the button until the light disappears.
  • Once the light disappears, turn off the ignition.
  • To confirm it worked, start the engine again.
