Unfortunately, you typically need a special tool to reset the airbag light on a

. This tool is called an OBD2 scanner and can cost anywhere from $25 to $100 or more at your local auto parts store.

Different scanners work in different ways, so follow the instructions on the packaging to ensure that your light resets correctly.

If you don’t want to purchase the scanner, you can also ask your mechanic to reset the light for you. This will typically be more costly, but it will eliminate the possibility that the light is on due to faulty wiring or another issue.
