How do you reset a 2011 Honda Accord oil light?

I have a 2011 Honda Accord that I recently took into the mechanic for an oil change. Fast-forward to a few days later and I noticed that the oil life still reads 45% and the maintenance reminder for an oil change is on. How can I reset my 2011 Honda Accord oil light?

Don’t stress if your oil light, oil life, or maintenance reminder are still on. Your mechanic likely just forgot to reset them after doing the oil change. Fortunately, resetting them is easy.
To reset a 2011
Honda Accord
oil light, follow these simple steps:
  • Turn the key to the accessories position, denoted by a II on the ignition. Don’t start the vehicle.
  • Locate the trip button that’s on the instrument cluster. It’s on the lower right side.
  • Press the trip button until the oil life shows at the bottom of the instrument cluster display.
  • Press and hold the trip button for around 10 seconds or until the oil life starts to flash.
  • Release the button.
  • Press and hold the button again for about 5 seconds, or until the oil life reads 100%.
By following the above procedure, your oil life will reset to 100%, effectively getting rid of the oil light and maintenance reminder.
If you’re getting regular oil changes, you’re making a smart move to protect the longevity of your vehicle. To add another layer of protection, take a few minutes to compare car insurance policies and prices with the
