How do you report your car as stolen online?
Can you report that your car was stolen online? My car was stolen today and I really don't want to deal with people. If it's possible, I just want to report it online and move on with my day.

“To report your car as stolen, go to your local police station’s website and see if they have the option to file a report online.
Many police departments have online reporting systems in place, but some stations may not at this time. If the latter is the case, you’ll have to call.
In addition to filing a stolen vehicle report with the police, you should:
- Contact your insurance agency
- Get in touch with your lender or lessor if the car is financed or leased
- Report the incident to the DMV
Acting fast and making sure the right people know about your situation can save you money and trouble in the long run. If your insurance company doesn’t know your car was stolen, then you may be on the hook for any damages or accidents caused by the thief.
