That said, keep a couple of things in mind when renewing an expired license in California, however:
It is illegal to drive while your license is expired, so you’ll need to arrange for transportation to and from the DMV
You have 60 days to renew your expired license in California—after 60 days have elapsed, you’ll need to apply for a new license instead
