I recently moved to a state with harsher winters than I’m used to and would like to purchase snow tires for my Subaru Forester, but I don’t know which to choose—what are the best snow tires for a Subaru Forester?

I'm looking to rent a car for a couple weeks for a long-overdue road trip with some old college friends—I live in a city with strong public transit, so I haven't needed to own a car in awhile. Given that it's been a bit since I've driven, and that multiple people are going to be driving for long stretches of time, I want to make sure we're covered for any issues that might arise, especially in terms of liability. So how do I get liability insurance for a rental car?

I was driving on the freeway and an object from the road ended up damaging my car. I have a high deductible of $1,500 and to fix the damages, it'll cost $2,000 to $2,200. Before submitting my claim, can I call my insurance company to lower my deductible? Or can I switch to a new policy with a different carrier?
