How do you remove overspray from car paint?

I recently got parts of my car repainted after repairing some damage to the body. I noticed a bit of overspray on other areas of the car. How do I get rid of this?

“When trying to remove overspray on your car’s paint job, it can be really easy to damage the clear coat. For best results, consult a professional before you begin any work that could do more harm than good.
After you’ve done so, there are two main ways to remove overspray:
Method 1: Use a Clay Bar: Be sure to buy a clay bar that is 100% authentic. Most cost between $5 to $25. You will also need a lubricant, such as soapy water, car surface cleaner, or even the spray that comes with your clay bar.
Here’s what to do:
  • Soften the bar by dipping it in warm water and ringing it out.
  • Lubricate the over-sprayed surface and slowly rub the clay bar on the affected area. You will probably feel some resistance between the clay and the overspray; this is normal.
  • Note when there’s less resistance, and you’ll know the clay bar has done its job.
Use a microfiber cloth to wipe the area clean with auto body cleaner. This will take off any remaining debris and give you a shiny, smooth finish.
Method 2: Use Rubbing Alcohol: Start by taking a small amount of alcohol and rubbing it onto the over-sprayed area. Make sure the area is well saturated and let it sit. Depending on the strength of the alcohol you use, this may take a few minutes.

Once the overspray dissolves, wipe away the spots with a microfiber cloth. If overspray remains, you should be able to gently scrape it away.
After that, be sure to wash the area with soap and water to remove any traces of alcohol; otherwise, it may damage your clear coat—and create a whole new issue!”
