How do you remove electric car seats?

The power seat in the front of our van isn’t working anymore, and I believe it has a faulty switch. We’d like to replace it, but my husband and I are not sure how to take it out. How do you remove electric car seats?

That sounds frustrating. By learning how to remove the seat yourselves, you can save time and
money
. You may need some materials including a mechanic tool set with pliers, gloves, screwdrivers, etc. It’s also smart to have safety equipment like aprons, goggles, and boots.
Here’s how to remove electric car seats:
  1. _Don’t _disconnect the car battery yet. Push the front seat all the way forward.
  2. Find the two bolts located at the back of the chair. If you can’t locate them, check the seat rails or look for a plastic cover on top of the screws (primarily found in newer cars).
  3. Once you can access the bolts, remove the two (one on the end of each rail seat) in the back.
  4. Move the seat back, while keeping the battery connected. Then remove the two bolts you see at the front of the seat rails.
  5. Now it’s time to disconnect the battery. If the battery is still connected and the key is in the ignition, _don’t _disconnect the car seat wires. Doing so will trigger the SRS/airbag warning light.
  6. If you have a second pair of hands,** lift** the seat and have them keep the front seat at an angle, titled back. This will allow you to disconnect the wires found under the seats.
  7. The seat can be** re-installed** in reverse order.
