How do you put a Cadillac CTS in Neutral with a dead battery?
Can I still put my Cadillac CTS in Neutral if my battery died? My car is completely dead and needs a new battery but it’s in my garage so I can’t jump it.

- Get into your car and look next to your shifter for a small slot about the same size as your vehicle’s keyhole.
- Press your key lightly into the slot.
- With your key still in the slot, you should be able to shift your vehicle.
This slot is called the emergency shift lock release and can be very helpful when your car battery is dead! If this option doesn’t work for you, however, your next best bet is to find a portable car battery charger to jump your vehicle.
