How do you program a Subaru garage door opener?

I tried pairing my Subaru’s garage door opener with my garage door remote, but nothing happened. What am I missing? How do you program a Subaru garage door opener?

Sometimes, pairing the garage door remote isn’t enough—you’ll have to program your
Subaru
garage door opener and program your garage door motor afterward.
Here’s what to do:
  • To enter the pairing/reset mode in your vehicle, hold the first and third garage door buttons on your rear-view mirror
  • Hold both buttons down simultaneously for about 20 seconds, or until a small red light begins to flash on the lower edge of your mirror
  • Now hold only the button you wish to program down and press the open/close button on your garage door opener. This should pair the garage door remote with your vehicle’s system
  • Exit your vehicle and enter your garage
  • Press the learn or training button on your garage door’s motor
  • Return to your car, and press and hold the button you just programmed for at least two seconds
  • Release the button and press it a second time, holding for at least two seconds
And that’s it! Your garage door opener should be successfully programmed to your Subaru!
