How do you program a garage door opener for a Dodge Ram?
I just got a new Dodge Ram with HomeLink, but I can't figure out how to pair the garage door opener. How do you program a garage door opener for a Dodge Ram?
! To program your garage door opener with HomeLink, follow these easy steps.
First, determine what kind of opener you have. Go to your opener motor on the inside of your garage and check for a Learn/Train button. If you see this button, you have a rolling code opener that will require additional steps.
Turn the ignition to the on/run position, but don’t start the engine.
Hold your transmitter 1-3 inches from your HomeLink system.
Simultaneously push and hold the transmitter button and the HomeLink button you wish to program. This can take up to 20 seconds.
Watch for the flashing HomeLink indicator light. It will flash slowly at first, then rapidly.
Once you see rapid flashing, release both buttons.
To check if programming is complete, press and hold the HomeLink button and look for the light. If the light stays on continuously, you’re all set.
If you have an older rolling code opener, you’ll need to complete a few more steps:
Go to the opener and find the Learn or Train button. Firmly press and release it.
Once you press the button, you will have 30 seconds to return to the HomeLink system and push your programmed HomeLink button twice. Hold for two seconds each time you press it.
If the opener is plugged in and activated, the programming is complete. If not, press the HomeLink button two more times to activate.
