How do you prevent blood clots while driving long distances?

I’m getting ready to take a long road trip with my kids. I’m nervous because I’ve had issues with blood clots in the past, and I’ll be driving the whole way by myself. How often should I stop to make sure that I don’t get blood clots?

It’s awesome that you’re planning ahead to make this trip easier for you! The best way to prevent blood clots is to move your legs, particularly your calf muscles, often. However, this can be difficult to do while
you’re driving
and can cause unnecessary distractions. As such, try to drive for no more than two hours between stops.
There are other things that you can try too, like compression socks and medications. However, it’s a good idea to talk to your doctor about which preventative measures are right for you, since every patient is a little different!
When you go on a long trip like this, it’s also important that you’re covered by a good insurance policy. The

app can help you find the best rates on the coverage you need in a matter of minutes. Just download the app, answer some quick questions, and you’ll be presented with competitive rates from more than 50 top providers.
