How do you precondition a Tesla for fast charging?

I’ve recently purchased a new Tesla, and someone recommended that I precondition it for fast charging. But I have no idea what that means. What is that and how do I do it?

You can precondition your
Tesla
for fast charging simply by turning it on while it’s still plugged in, and then using the climate control system to warm the Tesla up.
It’s a technique that many Tesla owners who live in cold areas use to make their cars more comfortable when they get in. Preconditioning helps with faster charging because it warms the entire car—the battery included.
Warmer batteries charge faster and hold a charge better—ergo, a preconditioned Tesla allows for faster charging!
If you live in an area where temperatures regularly drop below 30°F, preconditioning could be a useful tool for speeding up your Tesla Charging process.
