What’s the best way to park my car on a hill? My boyfriend lives on a steep hill, and I'm afraid my car will roll away every time I park there. There must be a better way to park!

Parking of any kind can be stressful—but it’s especially challenging on hills! The best way to park a car on a hill depends on whether you’re facing uphill or downhill. Either way, you should apply the emergency brake.
If you’re facing uphill:
- Position your car alongside the curb.
- Turn your wheels toward the street.
- Slowly let your car move downhill until your tires connect with the curb.
- Park your car with the wheels resting on the curb like a block.
If you’re facing downhill:
- Pull your car up until it’s parallel with the curb.
- Turn your wheels so that they face the curb.
- Slowly let your car inch forward until the wheels touch the curb.
- Park your car with the wheels resting on the curb.
With these methods, your car can’t slide downhill. Even if the breaks give out, your car will simply rest against the curb. If you’re still worried, you can always invest in extra
