How do you open the gas tank on a Honda Civic from 2014?

I just bought a used Honda, and I’m glad I don’t have to carpool to work anymore! However, today is my first time pumping gas into it, and I have no clue where the fuel door release button is. How do you open the gas tank on a 2014 Honda Civic?

Congrats on your new daily driver! To open the gas tank on a 2014
Honda Civic
, push down on the fuel door release button on the floor to the left of the driver seat. Unlike other fuel release levers, you do not pull up on the one in your Honda Civic—doing so would release the trunk instead.
Here are some more tips to help you out at the pump:
  • Civic models with the 1.8-liter engine require regular unleaded gas with an
    octane rating
    of 87 or higher
  • Civic models with the 2.4-liter engine require premium unleaded gas with 91 octane or higher
  • Your fuel tank capacity is 13.2 gallons
  • Your Civic’s EPA-estimated fuel efficiency is about 31/41 mpg city/highway, depending on your trim
You should be ready to keep your Civic fueled up on your new and improved commute. You can also consult your owner’s manual for answers if you ever get confused in the future. The label inside your driver door jamb is like a cheat sheet with your Civic’s VIN, paint codes, and
tire inflation pressure
