How do you open the gas tank on a 2016 Chrysler 200?
I’m borrowing my brother’s 2016 Chrysler 200 while my car is in the repair shop. I’m getting used to it pretty well, but how do you open its gas tank?

Learning the specifics of an unfamiliar car can take a while! Many makes and models have a lever or button in the car to open the gas tank, but not Chryslers. Here’s how to open the gas tank on a 2016 Chrysler 200:
- Make sure your car is parked, off, and unlocked.
- Press directly on the fuel door near the back edge.
- Your gas door should pop right open so you can fill up!
Your Chrysler’s gas tank will hold 15.8 gallons of fuel, providing you with anywhere from 363 to 568 miles of range on a full tank depending on where you’re driving. For city driving, you’ll get an EPA-estimated 23 mpg while highway driving will give you up to 36 mpg. That’s no guarantee, though! To make sure you’re getting the best possible fuel economy, consider adding these driving habits:
- Try not to idle your engine unless it’s absolutely necessary.
- Drive with care, avoiding any harsh acceleration or sudden braking.
