How do you open the gas tank on a 2014 Kia Optima?

I’m the lucky new car owner since my aunt passed down her Kia Optima to congratulate me on finally getting my license! I’m more than ready to tackle the road, but I’m not so confident about some of the car’s more technical aspects. How do I get the gas tank open?

With a new license and a new-to-you car, the open road calls—but not if you can’t fill your new-to-you car with gas! Luckily, accessing the gas tank in your ‘14 Optima is easy. To open the gas tank on a 2014
Kia
Optima, just follow these steps:
  1. Make sure the car’s engine is off.
  2. Sit in the driver’s seat of your Optima and feel around inside the driver’s side door cubby for a set of two buttons.
  3. Look at these buttons and you’ll notice that one of them has an icon of a gas station fuel pump on it.
  4. Press the button with this gas pump on it to open your fuel filler lid on the outside of your vehicle.
Once you’ve pressed this button, your fuel filler lid should pop open and you can go about filling your Kia Optima’s gas tank from there!
