How do you open a Mazda 3 key fob?
I accidentally dropped my key fob in my morning coffee. It’s still working fine, but I want to open it just to give it a quick wipe off. Can you tell me how to open a Mazda 3 key fob?

- Flip your key fob over and look for the small plastic tab
- Push down on the plastic tab and pull out the top of your key fob to release the physical key. Set it aside for now
- Find the slot where the physical key just was and look for the grooves along its side walls
- With a small flathead screwdriver (or your nails, if they’re long enough!), gently pry along the grooves and along seam where the front half of the remote meets the back
After you do this, the two halves should easily separate, and you’ll be able to clean out the inside of your
key fob
. And hopefully you can avoid any coffee-related car troubles
