I just got a new car and it’s really different from my old one! I’m not totally used to the controls yet and I keep making mistakes. How do you get used to driving a new car?

Congratulations on the new car! Operating a new vehicle can be daunting at first, but here are some ways that you can get used to driving your new car:
. Make sure that you’ve minimized your blind spots.
Practice braking. Brakes can vary a lot from car to car, so try practicing your stops in a low-stakes environment, like a neighborhood.
Learn the controls. Set aside some time to familiarize yourself with your new car. Make sure you know how to turn on your wipers and headlights, where your flashers button is, and how to operate your radio or stereo system before you start driving.
Practice, practice, practice. The best thing you can do to learn more about your new car is to take it for a spin on some roads that you know well. This will give you a chance to familiarize yourself with the controls and work out any kinks before you hit the highway.
