Engine oil is a crucial part of your car’s health, so it’s good you’re on top of this. You can fix an engine oil leak by tightening your bolts or adding a leak prevention product to your oil.
You’ll want to start with a vehicle examination to discover the root of the oil leak. Check the oil pan seals, the oil pan plug, the valve cover gaskets, the oil filter, and the oil cap. These can all be the culprit. In fact, the solution may be as simple as tightening one of these components.
Tighten the bolts on the oil pan and all the valve covers. These bolts can loosen over time, which can cause oil leaks.
You can also use an additive to stop the leak. Pour stop leak additive or high mileage oil blend into your oil pan to help stop the leak. These products soften your car’s seals to prevent further leaks, but be aware that it can take many miles of driving before the leak is totally sealed off.
