- Lift your car on mechanic’s ramps and place an oil pan underneath it
- Remove the oil cap and drain the oil from your car
- Put the oil cap back on and change out the oil filter for a new one
- Fill the engine with 4-5 quarts of fresh oil
- Check rod bearings and tighten them as needed
- Clean the fuel-injection system
