How do you fix a cracked engine block?

I found out that my engine was leaking antifreeze. While I was trying to get that sorted, I realized my engine block has all these fine cracks in it. Not good. How do you fix a cracked engine block?

Oh no, sorry to hear this. If your engine’s
cooling system
failed, that could definitely cause it to overheat, resulting in a cracked engine.
Depending on the severity and location of these cracks, you may be able to repair them with welding, repair plugs, or other methods.
Repairing an
engine
block with cracks or holes could cost between $1,500 and $4,000. In some cases, it may cost less to replace the engine block instead, so keep that in mind.
If you have a trusted mechanic check out your engine block, they should be able to give you a repair estimate or replace the engine block with a new one, depending on what you decide.
