I live in San Francisco and had my car parked on the street for a few days. When I went back to get it this morning, it was gone. How can you tell if your car was towed?

Oh, no! Sorry you’re dealing with a missing vehicle. To find out if your car was towed, you can check with the city.
The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) usually removes vehicles from the street that were parked illegally or believed to be abandoned. Towed vehicles will be taken to the City and County of San Francisco Impound. You can call them at 415-865-8200 to find out if they have your vehicle.
Be prepared to pay a fee once you arrive to pick up your car. These are typically several hundred dollars.
If you cannot locate your vehicle through the SFMTA, you should reach out to the San Francisco Police Department. More information is available by calling 415-553-1619.
