How do you connect Bluetooth to the Ford Edge?
My aunt recently got a Ford Edge but couldn’t connect her phone via Bluetooth. She’s been asking me to help, but I’m not sure either. How do you get Bluetooth set up in the Ford Edge?

Sorry to hear of your aunt’s Bluetooth troubles!
- Ensure that Bluetooth is enabled on the mobile device you want to connect.
- On the Ford SYNC multimedia system, press Phone > Add Phone to allow your system to be discoverable by other devices. It may display a unique PIN to help ensure you are pairing the correct system.
- In the Bluetooth menu on your mobile device, select your Ford SYNC system and input the PIN (if needed). Once the two systems begin pairing, the SYNC screen should confirm the pairing request.
- The two systems should now be connected through Bluetooth.
- Multiple devices can be connected to the Ford Edge by repeating the same process, but only one paired phone can receive calls at a time.
If you are still unable to connect, here are some common reasons why the pairing failed:
- The mobile device is not compatible with SYNC.
- The mobile device is not set to “discoverable.”
- Your vehicle is in Accessory mode—it must be in Park and running to initiate the connection.
With the mobile device connected wirelessly, your aunt can now make hands-free calls, stream music, access turn-by-turn navigation, receive text messages, and more.
