My big brother gave me his old 2008 BMW 328i and I’m super excited! I see that there’s a button with a phone on it on the steering wheel, so I’m assuming it’s Bluetooth compatible. How do I connect it?

You must have been the best younger sibling ever! Either that or your brother is trying to amend for years of noogies and “stop hitting yourself!” action. To connect Bluetooth in a 2008 BMW 328i, you must have the Premium Package.
If your BMW doesn’t have that package, then you’re out of luck—and the phone button will taunt you with its uselessness. But if your BMW is properly equipped, here’s how to do it:
Hold down the phone button on the steering wheel or stereo until a message appears on the stereo screen asking if you want to pair a device
Go to the Bluetooth settings in your phone, and look for and select the ‘BMW’ option
Choose a PIN on your phone
Choose ‘add device’ on your car’ stereo screen
Enter the same PIN you just chose
You should get a message that says ‘pairing successful’—and that’s it!
Bluetooth is a nice bonus to have, but you know what’s an absolutely essential car accessory? Great
