If your car just started leaking, then you’re in luck! You can usually just wipe away
small amounts of oil
, with a rag. But if you have a bigger oil problem, you should try using kitty litter.To clean off your concrete driveway with kitty litter, follow these steps:
- Spread a generous layer of kitty litter over the spill.
- Let it rest for about 15 to 30 minutes.
- Sweep up the oil-soaked kitty litter.
- Spray the area with a mix of baking soda or laundry detergent and water.
- Rinse the area.
If the oil left a fresh stain, you can usually get it out by scrubbing it with dish soap. Don’t forget to rinse when you’re done. Leftover soap can make your driveway slippery—which can be dangerous. To avoid any future oil stains, get your car checked out as soon as possible.
