Your 2021 Kia Sorento’s TPMS will have an indicator light that’s designed to turn on when your tire pressure is too low (or when it detects a malfunction somewhere in the system). You can also check tire pressure readings for each tire on the LCD. Your owner’s manual lays out the steps to access it, and how to change the tire pressure unit based on your preference.
If you’ve never used a tire pressure gauge, they’re generally pretty easy to figure out. If you don’t have one, you’ll often find them available at gas stations. All you need to do is unscrew the valve stem cap on your tire, then press the tire pressure gauge onto the valve stem firmly enough that you don’t hear a hissing sound. Then you’ll have your reading—depending on the gauge, your tire pressure might display digitally, or you might read it on a marked bar that emerges from the gauge.
Even with a TPMS, it’s always a good idea to periodically check your vehicle’s tire pressure with an actual tire pressure gauge, just in case the system were to unexpectedly stop working.
