How do you check the oil level in a BMW 328i?

Aside from getting oil changes, I don’t usually pay attention to the oil in my car. But my daughter told me that it’s something I should be looking at on a regular basis. How do you check car oil at home on a BMW 328i?

Checking your oil level periodically is definitely smart! Oil is a key component of your car’s engine health. To check the oil level in a
BMW 328i
, you’ll need to follow these steps:
  • Turn your engine to the ON setting.
  • On the left side of your wheel, locate the button labeled BC and press it.
  • Use the stalk just above the BC button to scroll through the options on your display until you reach the oil can icon.
  • Press the BC button again to select this setting.
  • Once you’ve done this, you should see a small clock with moving hands appear on your screen. This indicates that your car is measuring the oil level. The process typically takes about three minutes.
  • After three minutes have passed, the oil level will appear on your car’s display.
