How do you change the tail light bulb on a 2014 Hyundai Sonata?
The tail light in my Hyundai just went out, and I want to fix it before I get a ticket. I’ve never done it before, and I’m not sure how. How do you replace the tail light in a 2014 Hyundai Sonata?
Sonata, all you’ll need is a small Phillips head screwdriver, a pair of gloves, and the replacement bulb. To get started, look up the replacement part number in your owner’s manual and buy the new bulb. Then do the following:
Open the trunk and move to affected side
Locate the rectangular access panel and pull open
Find the brake light socket (light gray)
Turn the socket counterclockwise and pull out
Press down and turn burnt-out bulb and pull out to remove
Wearing gloves to avoid smudges, install the new bulb in the socket
Replace the socket and access panel
Close the trunk and test the new bulb
All done! Your brake light should be in working order now. Great job!
