How do you change the passenger side mirror on an Acura TL?

My husband was working on a ladder near my car, and his toolbox fell from the shelf straight onto my side mirror. I’m fairly certain my insurance doesn’t cover damage-by-husbands, so how can I change the passenger side mirror on my Acura TL by myself?

It should only take you about a half-hour to change the passenger side mirror on your
Acura TL
, and all you need is a flathead screwdriver, a socket wrench, and the new mirror. Once you have those, do the following.
  • Use the screwdriver to pry up the trim on the inside of the mirror and remove it
  • Disconnect the electrical harness
  • Using the socket wrench, remove the three nuts on the inside of the door
  • Pull the old mirror straight off
  • Put the new mirror in its place, feeding the bolts through the holes
  • Reinstall the three nuts, electrical harness, and trim
That’s it! No promises that it’s husband-proof, but your mirror should be solid now.
