would certainly thank you if it could. Here’s how to change the oil on a diesel truck:
Warm up your engine to its operating temperature, then turn it off
Place an oil pan under the drain plug and remove the plug using a 15mm socket and ratchet
Remove the oil filter canister using a 27mm socket and ratchet
Dispose of the old oil filter and O ring
Install a new filter and O ring into the canister—lubricate the O ring with fresh oil
Replace the canister
Replace the drain plug—and ensure that it is tightened properly
Using a funnel, pour 5.5 quarts of 5W30 Dexos 2™ approved oil into the engine
Replace the oil fill cap
Turn on your engine and check for leaks while it circulates, then turn it off
Using the dipstick, check your engine oil level and top off as needed
Be sure to check your owner’s manual to see if there are any specifications on the oil or oil filter that you will need to adhere to. You’ll want to make sure to use the approved materials to avoid voiding your warranty and damaging your truck.
Changing your oil regularly keeps your truck’s engine well-protected—as does purchasing quality car insurance.
