Is there a way for me to change the engine air filter on my 2012 Honda Civic without taking it to a shop? I’d rather do it myself if I can since it would be cheaper.
of your Honda. There should be an anchor laying along the ledge in front of the radiator, which you can use to prop the hood open.
Now, you should be able to locate your air filter in a black plastic box just to the right of the valve cover. If you have trouble finding the filter, check your owner’s manual for the location.
Push the four clips on the sides away from the box so that you can lift the cover.
Remove the old air filter and replace it with your new filter.
Then, place the cover back on the box and secure it with the four clips. You can throw away your old filter!
